Scaling Challenges in Cybersecurity - Talent Attraction and Retention
The cybersecurity industry must expand practices, diversify its workforce, and simplify jargon to include newcomers. Scaling solutions to meet the demands of a global digital economy is crucial as cybercrime continues to grow.
We need to open the field to a broader group of people and simplify cybersecurity to make it easier to implement across various organizations. We need more diverse people coming to cyber, not only young males with hoodies š§š»āāļø.
Moreover, attracting and retaining top cybersecurity talent requires transparent expectations, compensation, and company culture. By clearly communicating the organization's strategy and goals, companies can prevent friction between new hires and existing teams, ensuring alignment and realistic expectations.
This clarity helps build trust and maintains a cohesive work environment.
